About Me

I'm Berkant Gök, a passionate and detail-driven Game Designer with 2 years of hands-on experience in game development. My work spans across solo and collaborative projects, where I specialize in system design, level design, narrative development, and gameplay flow. I believe in creating meaningful player experiences built on solid mechanics, emotional storytelling, and thoughtful pacing. I’ve independently developed LetsFall, a project where I explored level pacing, player feedback, and puzzle integration. I also contributed to CupConnect as part of a small team, focusing on core mechanics and progression design. These experiences taught me how to balance creativity with problem-solving, and how to adapt designs to different production constraints and player needs. Technically, I'm skilled in Unreal Engine—especially the Blueprint visual scripting system—and Unity, both of which I use depending on the scope and needs of the project. I also enjoy experimenting with Photoshop for visual prototyping and FL Studio for ambient audio work or placeholder sound design, often to build atmosphere and mood in early-stage development. While I’ve developed games mostly for PC platforms, I always design with scalability in mind, considering controller support, UI clarity, and flexible mechanics that can adapt to different platforms like mobile or consoles. I have a strong interest in mystery-driven mechanics, interactive puzzles, and hidden narrative elements (such as easter eggs and world-building through environment). I’m particularly drawn to the design philosophy where gameplay mechanics are not just functional, but also symbolic and emotionally resonant. Beyond technical skills, I’m someone who thrives in collaborative environments. I’m known for being highly communicative, easy to work with, and someone who brings positive energy and motivation to the people around me. I believe that great games are made not just by skill, but by teams that trust and inspire each other. As someone who is constantly learning, I dedicate time to researching game design theory, analyzing player psychology, and studying how games trigger emotional and cognitive engagement—especially in relation to dopamine loops, player motivation, and narrative payoff. Currently, I’m continuing to grow both as a designer and as a person. Whether it's refining my blueprint skills, testing new design approaches, or learning more about storytelling, I see every project as an opportunity to evolve. Thanks for visiting my portfolio. I hope you enjoy exploring the projects I’ve built so far—and I look forward to the ones yet to come.
